About the property
Inside
accommodation at Casa Luza is all on one floor. Furnishings and fittings throughout are of a very high quality and the subtle colour scheme of greys, whites, blacks and natural wood creates a serene, restful ambience.In the central section of the house is a generously proportioned communal living and dining area with high white beamed ceilings, large sink-in sofas, a fireplace, a study area and a series of French windows providing access to terraces on both sides of the house.
To one end of this area, looking over and opening onto the main al fresco dining area, is the superbly equipped kitchen, with large central island, professional range, double-fronted fridge-freezer, wine fridge and pretty much everything else a chef could need for inspiration. The flooring throughout is in gorgeous local petrol-grey pietra pece
The bedrooms are located in two wings, one at each end of the living area
The first is home to three bedrooms:
- a double with walk-in wardrobe, large en-suite bathroom with separate tub and shower, decorative fireplace and large French windows accessing a private panoramic terrace;
- a double bedroom with views out over the countryside and an en-suite shower room;
- a double-twin with access to the surrounding terraces and an en-suite bathroom with small tub and shower connection.
The second wing has another three bedrooms:
- a double with en-suite shower room and access to the pool area
- a second double with en-suite shower room and terrace access
- a double-twin, also with en-suite shower room and access to the surrounding terraces
Outside
arrival at Casa Luza is via a large sun-soaked terrace, at the centre of which is an olive tree. Furnished with a table and chairs, this area is accessed by two of the bedrooms.The main focus of your al fresco life at Casa Luza, however, is on the other side of the property, where extensive terraces, furnished for dining, barbecuing and lounging, and a pristine triangle of green grass give way to the inviting cobalt waters of the infinity pool and the olive-specked countryside beyond.
Accessed from multiple doors in the living room, dining room, kitchen and several of the bedrooms, this area really is the villa's oasis, a secluded, private hideaway blessed with views of the surrounding countryside and the sparkling sea on the horizon.

About the Area
Casa Luza is set in rolling hills near the fascinating baroque town of Noto and the beautiful nature reserve of Vendicari.
Noto is arguably the most perfect of a string of sublime baroque towns (including Modica, Ragusa and Scicli) that constitute the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Val di Noto. Rebuilt in flamboyant style following a major earthquake in 1693, they are masterpieces of flair, style and town planning.
Vendicari Nature Reserve, meanwhile, boasts some of the finest sandy beaches in Sicily and is also home to migrating flamingos, sea turtles and a host of other wildlife.
If hiking in the hills is your thing, then there is some spectacular scenery in the rushing streams and waterfalls of Cassibile and at the Paleolithic burial sites in the dramatic valley of , Pantalica.
Syracuse is just half an hour's drive away, and a day there is highly recommended to anybody spending a week or two at Casa Luza.
