The bedrooms not required will be closed, but the rest of the villa, its amenities and its grounds will remain at the complete disposal of guests. Should you book the reduced occupancy, bedrooms 1, 2 and 3 will be prepared for you.About the property
Inside
accommodation at I Bruzzi is all on one floor and revolves around a central, open-concept space hosting a beautifully furnished living area with feature fireplaces, a convivial dining table and a superbly finished kitchen equipped with double-fronted fridge-freezer, a large island and a wine chiller.Retractable glass walls provide seamless access to the large decked, sea-view pool area to one side and an intimate, sheltered internal courtyard to the other. Fittings and furnishings are of an exactingly high quality throughout and a clear architectonic logic shines through, creating an environment that is not only aesthetically desirable, but also practical and liveable.
A door between the kitchen and the dining area, takes one into the first of the five bedrooms, an opulent, open suite featuring a central double bed, a walk-in wardrobe, a voluptuous in-room tub, an enormous double shower, an en-suite WC and, behind a low, semi-partition wall that doubles as the bed's headboard, his-and-hers sinks with hanging mirrors. A huge, wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door opens out onto a decked terrace and brings in the glorious views of the gardens and the sea.
Back in the living area, a passage-way to one side of the fireplace, leads past a guest WC to two more sea-view bedrooms, a double and a double-twin, each with its own en-suite shower room and access to the decked pool area.
The internal courtyard provides access to the remainder of the accommodation: a TV snug (also connected internally to the kitchen) and the last two bedrooms, a double and a double-twin, sharing a Jack-and-Jill shower room (accessed directly from both bedrooms).
Last but not least, tucked away in a wooden gazebo in the grounds, is the well-equipped NORHD gym, which has an exercise bike, a rowing machine, a treadmill and weights.
Outside
as has already been hinted at, I Bruzzi has been conceived with a fluid indoor-outdoor lifestyle in mind. Conventional boundaries disappear when the retractable glass walls are opened up, creating a natural flow between internal and external areas. To the front of the house, accessed via the living and dining area, the master suite and two of the bedrooms, is a huge, tiered expanse of sea-view decking, at the centre of which sits the sublime heated infinity pool. There are shady areas for sitting and al fresco dining, interspersed with landscaped gardens planted with a wide and colourful variety of aromatic shrubs, ornamental grasses, cacti and trees.
For a more intimate setting, guests may head to the delightful decked internal courtyard, which has a little green oasis at the centre and, to one side, a sheltered romantic Jacuzzi, whose roof-opening provides unforgettable views of the starlit sky.
The grounds surrounding I Bruzzi, which include a large bespoke circular dining table, have been planted with a vibrant array of trees and plants that root the house in a fragrant cocoon of tranquillity and well-being.
About the Area
I Bruzzi looks out over the lovely sandy beaches and sheltered bays of Corsica's south coast, near Pianottoli. The nearest beach is an easily walkable 650m away. About 20km to the southeast is Bonifacio, one of Corsica's most dramatically positioned and picturesque towns. Teetering perilously on a high cliff above the sea it offers sublime views over to Sardinia and a great selection of restaurants and bars.
Less than an hour's drive northwest is the panoramically positioned, medieval town of Sartène, whose pretty labyrinth of streets gives an idea of Corsican life away from the coastline.
Heading up the east coast one comes to a series of delightful beaches, including those of Santa Giulia, Tamaricciu and Palombaggia, and Porto Vecchio, another of Corsica's many charming towns offering a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and a nice old town centre looking over the large natural harbour.
Further afield on the west coast is the island's capital, Ajaccio, which is well worth a visit, not least so you can say that you've been to the birthplace of the great Napoleon.

Staff and owners of I Bruzzi were friendly and accommodating - all of them. The vegetables and fruit from their garden was most welcome, and appreciated.

We had an amazing time at I Bruzzi. There are lots of things that made this trip a memorable one. The villa is outstanding, everything was of great quality, a great accommodation with comfortable beds. The hamper was full of delicious local items and we very much enjoyed cooking at such a well-equipped kitchen and dining al fresco with the candles on the table, good wine and food. We felt privileged to have the peaceful Chevanu beach just a few minutes’ walk away from the villa, a perfect spot for picnics and snorkelling, we travelled in September and at times, somehow it felt as if we were in the Caribbean! The local staff were unobtrusive and most helpful at all times.
